Potential Historically Unprecedented Earthquakes in Greece, Turkey and Italy, is the title of an article published by the French newspaper Le Monde, which makes an alarming prediction regarding Greece.
According to the publication, Greece, Turkey, Italy and Romania, are the countries at the greatest risk. These countries are not excluded from experiencing earthquakes of a magnitude similar to that of the earthquake of 11 March 2011 in Fukushima, Japan and of the tsunami that followed, resulting in the death of 19,000 people.
The article is accompanied with the first maps of the earthquake zones throughout Europe, as they were created, in the framework of the program SHARE (Seismic Hazard Harmonization in Europe), by a group of 50 scientists, including eminent seismologists and engineers.
